Motorcycle Crashes

The September 1998 issue of Performance Bikes had an article on motorcycle crashes.  I thought I'd share them to remind you to ride more cautiously as you probably don't want your picture to end up in some British magazine.
Rider: Kevin Scwantz
Bike: Suzuki RGV500
Race: Donington, British 500GP, 1993
Pic: Gold&Goose
Poor old Kevin Schwantz, he didn't even make it to the Esses: a rare mistake from Doohan (possibly expecting too much from cold carbon brakes) saw his NSR plough into the back of Barros' RGV.  Innocent Schwantz was then cartwheeled off by Mick's Honda -- much to the disgust of 50,000 Schwantz supporters.  Cadalora (#7) somehow missed the carnage and went on to win.
Rider: Chris Walker
Bike: Cadbury's Boost Yamaha YZF750
Race: Oulton Park, UKSB, 1997
Pic: Kevin Tredwell
Kevin Tredwell: 'I don't normally stand near Cascades when I go to Oulton, so I was really lucky to get this shot.  As I tracked Chris down the hill towards the bend, it looked as if his front let go before flipping him up in the air... it was a hell of a tumble.
'It was the highside that made it so spectacular because he was spat so high.  It takes some believing, but Chris is actually flying through the air backwards.'
Rider: Sebastian Porto
Bike: Aprilia RSV250
Race: Mugello, Italian 250GP, 1998
Pic: Allsport
Mike Cooper: 'Porto was battling with Jeremy McWiliams when he had this crash.  The race had been restarted and he was well up there.  He entered the first corner after the start/finish straight when the bike just spat him off without warning.  At first I thought he'd highsided -- it was only later I discovered the bike had seized.'
A crash picture I found on the Internet
A crash picture I found on the Internet...well, almost.  It's a pro stunt rider doing a wheelie with his girlfriend.  I hope she didn't bump her head too much.
